march 4 :: first 7 inches

once again, i didn't mean to, but kept knitting on rogue...at least it is sitting on top of karlie's sweater, which is what i meant to be knitting. just about to take this kangaroo curl and knit it in to the next round.

one of the movie channels, i think showtime, is having a free weekend...could be quite knitable

march 3 :: red raglan rogue

finished green turn around, didn't take much blocking. it feels good on, tho still needs long term testing. most excitement is chosing a bit of noro nadeshiko to make some flowers for the cuff and a waist flower as well i think. its angora/silk/wool. have to chose between folly roses or something from embellishment book.

like most of the knitting galaxy i am in love with the rogue pattern, tho it scares me out of my mind on account of its cap sleeves, which i have never been able to do successfully. gauge-played around with both the regular weight and chunky redmaple highland wool and liked the fabric of the chunky best and before i knew it i was creating a hem. last night i finished kangaroo pocket. its been said so many times, genius pattern. tho i intend to mess with perfection and make raglan sleeves if i cannot work up the nerve to follow along as is.

i think i have made labyrinth movie downloadable in avi format, tho for picture fun i would suggest pioneer melissa's idea of 3 photo day. i think i am going to do something like that through the gardening year.

you know i am in this for the pictures. what i am really wanting to do is let you Download the movie. anyway, soon there will be knitting pictures, but today there are only k&my february photos, highlight is the labyrinth, which we traditionally walk on feb. full moon day for our anniversary. i like running this movie backwards and seeing the undrawing of... other pictures in 2 forms, one that i put up for us to order pictures, has the most poses, & full size views... here and one smaller version with commentary

Feb 25 :: wish we could knit them homes and families

there is still enough colorful lopi to make at least 3 more child sweaters. this one is the pattern 'judit' from 'best of lopi' (scrolling involved---and you could get happily lost among the wonder of knitting books--)most of the child sweaters in the book appeal to me. there are hats and mittens in the book as well. and last years 'astrid' sweater (mid-page) is still a favorite of mine, and since it is rarely cold enough here to wear it, will last me for my life. along with the colorful bits, my lopi (&naturgarn which i prefer to lopi) stash contains grays/browns both enough for grown up sweaters, and goo-gobs of shades of green that i am imagining using LongJohn Silver knitting machine on to make squares, sew them together into blanket to felt. perhaps i will test this theory out with a scarf.

my dulann shelf so far. as i wrote at the start of this entry, i wish we could knit them homes and families.
