Knitting for Alchemy | :: writing up a real world pattern :: 12-14-04 :: Benjamin's much admired hat (and self) has gotten grandma me my first knitting job, writing up a pattern for Alchemy Yarns. Surprisingly, it has become a fun project. I am no master knitter, more truly a 'folk knitter ' and knitting language is not natural for me. was figuring out how to make the increases on the crown look uniform and beautiful. After 3 or 4 whole hearted left brain attempts with words, the process is now back in the ease of right brain activity and I am happier with the hat for its uniform beauty. I am having considerably more trouble writing up earflaps. 12-22-04 finally have success with earflaps. out of the left brain back to the ease of the right. now three hats are complete and the final one is down to the brow where I cannot help myself but to try something brand new with it. I am not sure I am in favor of knitting as work, it is far too slow of a process to ever be compensated for, yet I am so proud to have been asked and been able to manage this one project anyway xo | |||||||||||||||
