March 25 :: Ben socks... They began with 40 stitches, size U.S 3 needles, 2x2 rib, 20 stitch heel(14rows), and decreased to 36 stitches during the gusset. 4 " heel to toe. Tho mostly acrylic, the Hobby Kids was comfortable and fun to knit. Now, to while away the next 5 days with organic cotton.

Ben asks " When do you make a face like this? "

March 24 :: Wool Company Loot :: from the left, Donegal Tweed for Map of the World afghan, a new fun thing from Classic Elite, some very soft alpaca spun by the store(Karl chose this), and some happy green for Ben socks. Brought the green back to Salem for our last week here, organic cotton is still here too. I'm feeling quite a bit out of sorts on account of the moving process, so I don't know what sort of a knitting week it will be for me. Hope your knitting week is good

March 20 :: All but for weaving in the ends, the poncho is finished. It weighs 7 lbs. I should have been quick witted enough to see after the first 8 inches that this fabric was not Oregon compatible, but no, I worked right through to the end. I do think that there is something in this design that I will carry forward. Ponchos and Oregon are usually a good combination. I think I could knit the long rectangles quickly on the knitting machine and add fancy handknit borders...so, I have borrowed one of Ben's expressions (the one involving tongue sticking out) and am on my way to the next adventure which is taking a vanload down to Bandon and being there for the delivery of *the new knitting chair* Just so happens Bandon's local yarn shop is having its spring sale...

Mar 16 :: just passed halfway with poncho. There may be 2 or 3 blustery days a year I may want to wear this. Perhaps we should start planning a trip to the Arctic.
