June 15 :: Alchemy bamboo Oregon Coast Hat. it has been awhile since I made the silkpurse hats, I believe I am just as pleased with this bamboo version. Especially fond of bamboo tassels. clicking picture puts the hat on my head... here is another close-up. Used U.S #3 for stranding (silk-purse used #5's) just shy of 8 stitches per inch, then used 0's for rolled brim, 2's for i-cord. Variety knit <grin>

June 14 :: from the left is forest, avacado & sage, sage may be absolutely correct, the other 2 I think should have some gray effect to their names. I love Pakucho, have large bundles of the whites from previous years, not to mention a sweater being pulled apart to redo in chocolate. yum.

June 7 :: 9 a.m. Pacifiic Time, PAKUCHO is back at elann. com and so will I be...

June 5 :: along with the mystery black and white project I have started 2 "Oregon Coast Hats" from the bamboo. Above is Lantern mixed with Montreat Path and below is A Breath of Fire and Kai's Goldfish. This bright one is a bit hard even on my bright color loving eyes, I have ordered some blues which I think may be a better mix with fire and I have another idea for the goldfish as well. The lantern/montreat mix sends me "over the moon" with knitted joy.

Oregon Coast Hat is a pattern I created for Alchemy Yarns, should be available for all very soon.

May's family photo gallery is ready

June 10 :: very awkwardly plied the first few weeks of spinning. After just a few days of spinning I knew already what I wanted to knit from this. The process itself leaves my mind so open for good thoughts.

Friday :: June 3 :: came home from spinning lesson to find new bamboo had arrived. one problem(or wonderful attribute) of mine is that when I find something new that I love I cannot be satisfied till I have goo-gobs of it on hand, and with an Alchemy product the multitude of beautiful colorways makes this an even more intense need. from the left here are montreat path, dragon, montreat path again, lantern, four bundles of kai's goldfish, and 3 of breath of fire. They have a way with naming things that pleases me. Last night I had a winding party, and the lantern and dragon especially are calling me back on line for more.

I learned a lot from Janet yesterday, she has that quality of a good teacher for making me feel that I was doing great right from the start. I want to take some pictures to help illustrate what I learned, plus I have to check back about what was the right name for this and that.

One vital fact that I learned was that Blacksheep Gathering is a mecca for fiber and spindles xo lucky mare

hello to June

anticipating that this will be a wonderful knitting month as well as wonderful living month (for I already have a date with my children for my birthday on the 25th) and Blacksheep Gathering chose my birthady weekend to happen and we intend to spend all of Sunday there.

This afternoon I have a first session with my spinning-tutor and am carrying spindle inside my latest knitting triumph

Happy June to all xo
