April 9 :: just a bit of Greenland glaciers, Quebec, then the decorative points and this panel will be proudly finished. I enjoyed my google images search through this region.

April 7 :: have passed by the 2/3 point of this panel, knitting through Spain, England, Scotland, bits of USA ...Canada...Iceland ...Greenland, but I have been ignoring the geography lessons and just knitted color.

I didn't like the way the photo gallery program made its thumbnails out of proportion to picture, so I have begun April's homelife photo pages on my own with my dinosaur Adobe PageMill.

Have you seen Mr. Picassohead? Now, that's some programming to be proud of.

April 5 :: Can you name the countries of South America? Ecuador and parts of Peru (mmm, highland wool) and Columbia (mmmm, coffee) will be on panel one. Beginning 2nd skein of ocean, another mmmmmmmmmmm xox

here is a fun map showing where animals live in the wild by Sandiego Zoo

April 2 :: I have knitted my way past the South Shetland Islands ...

"there goes Mare..."

to Chile/Argentina and the Falkland Islands(which are only 5 red stitches on the blue speckled Atlantic)

Searching for fun facts via Google Images, this was my favorite
"This phytoplankton bloom off the coast of Argentina, is nearly 800-miles long. The bloom runs the length of the image-with some of the most spectacular features to the northeast of the Falkland Islands (bottom center). "

What's a phytoplankton bloom?

Mar 31 :: it has been at the top of my dream list for over a year, Karl and I have been collecting Donegal Tweed skeins during our travels that long. I wanted it to be the first project from the beach, and so it is.

I thought there could be an added fun factor of learning new things about the places as I knit them. Please join in. I've asked Karl to get us started for he knows about Antarctica.

As I knit it, the actual temperatures in Antarctica ranged from -88F/-67C to 40F/5C
