What are these little piggies up to?
October 5 :: " Hi Grandma! "
My grandma heart is so melty. There are 6 other poses linked
from this one, one which shows Ben demonstrating the stretchable
nature of 1x1 stranding.
Trying to resist more moebii backfired into starting 3 more
(and finishing one) one of this batch is for felting. I have
to get a grip. Have also been working on slippers which is quite
fun, and sister-in-law blanket grows by a few rows each day.
Newest knitting dream is to make catnip mice for all the family
cats... guess my christmas elf nature is starting up. Wonder
if Wendy's mouse pattern is still out there...yes it is

October 3 :: moebii mania
I don't know how to explain how much more this is than a rectangle
with a twist. I get such a kick out of knitting moebius-ly. Made
a few mistakes on #2. Here is the best shot I got of the pinwheel
pattern I was attempting, you can see it here only in shadows...
one skein of silky wool wasn't enough to do the complete pattern.
I did half the pattern at the beginning (dark brown) because
moebiusly from the center that made a whole pattern, but then
working in the gold the pattern formed on both sides of center.
I was just a few rows shy of getting it all. Looks much better
to me than simply alternating knitting and purling rounds. I
also realized that I have to knit the very first round in pattern.
The moebius cast on is somewhat like figure eight on a cable
needle. This is so well explained in the book (A Treasury of Magical Knitting) that I got
it right on my 2nd try. So it is the knitting around after this
figure eight-ing bit that has to be done in the pattern.
I began Friday morning at the post office, picking
up a package from Carodan Farm which included some Noro Blossom.
By Friday night Moebius 3 was finished...yesterday we posed me
in our beautiful front yard
here is one of the things that pleases me, wrap it
around and...
Blossom added even more to the fun of moebius knitting.
Here is a close-up, I knit this time in simple moss stitch This
is 2 skeins, U.S #8 needles.
Gone a whole day now without beginning another...
