i am not a christian, so for me this weekend is only about bunnies and bright colored eggs. it was always a fun time when my kids were little. i imagine all of them spending some egg coloring time out in the world on their own. there is a rainbow hanging over the ocean this morning ~ easter color for k&i. knitting wise, here is silk garden #87 with its easter colors, hat #10 for my dulann shelf. there are a few more skeins of this here, want to see if i can fit it into the Noa 3-in-1 pattern.
while cropping the photo, i noticed the seeds and decided to leave them in the shot...
we sprinkled lots into the garden yesterday
now there are 9 hats on my for-dulann shelf. donegal tweed, knit on US # 7 needles, top-knot down, increased to 104 stitches, 13 inch length (22 inch circumference) which felted down to 20 inch circumference, and 8 inch length. tho i did find that donegal tweed felts beautifully, i like it better unfelted for its tweedy dots that allbut disappear in the felting. i still have a nice basket full of this yarn...maybe some socks...
hat was knit following my basic hat pattern written for silk garden...which i think will be my next few dulann projects, i just got a nice box-full of silk garden from carodan farm's sale, some pretty colors that my local stores never got in.
in my morning blog adventures this free pattern from hello yarn came up, which i think will also make a fine for-dulann hat.
these are my latest dulann projects :: on the left, from the vogue book caps & hats, in donegal tweed (leftover from the map of the world-my best of 2004 knitting) the cap on the right i am going to attempt to felt, have heard that this yarn felts well. for dulann info, visit mossy cottage
since i was last here, karlie got a new pair of slippers, using double lopi and an easy pattern from blackberry ridge, called quick knit slippers (photo to come).
shipped bunny slippers out yesterday, the post office says easter is a busy week, especially for grandma's shipping to their special little ones. bunny-along is a fun place to visit. hop hop.

i wished i had the steady hand of my daughter while i painted grippy-spirals on the bottoms of Ben's slippers. they are now doing a 24 hour dry. the fabric 3d paint turned out to be the easiest and nicest looking (in my grandma opinion). its a Duncan product called Scribbles. Ben will have to let us know how durable it is.
Ben's slippers were knit from bunny colored noro kureyon and US #4 needles & with a few more stitches and rows added to the Debbie Bliss pattern (from Nursery Knits)...looking at the amount of bunny colored noro there is still here in my possession , i can't help but wonder if grandma needs bunny slippers as well.......
