have emptied a shelf to store up Dulann work. This is gone-forever Dandy yarn, ribbon wrapped wool, very fun. I especially like it in garter stitch. here is a fairly good close-up. began a 2nd dandy hat, from the turns&twists episode of knitters (# 72 ) I made this for myself last year, but it is rarely cold enough here to require it (especially with my own manufactured peramenopausal heat : P )
have also completed one cashmere sock. size #2 needles are just outside my comfort zone, I much prefer 3's. This I think will be pair #3 for 2005, moving me down to #1's... before I can begin them I will need to finish up Meadow's mittens which have ahold of those needles...pictured on the right side bar of the above link, along with a very sweet picture of my Karlie wearing some happy knitted colors xo
For knitting entertainment this morning I have the latest Battlestar Galactica episode taped from last night. For more movie fun, we recommend checking out Tom Tykwer, German writer/director. Not only are the movies fantastic, but his commentaries are wonderful, not to mention the beauty of Franka Potente & Cate Blanchett
enough links for one morning. fly away from here. have you seen emma's roses(feb 5 entry)?
feb 10 :: double roll hat band
I like this a lot, its done by either purling the last inch, or more easily for me, turn the work and knit an inch. This is silk garden #65 (one of my favorite colorways so far) and US #7... free .pdf file of pattern
as so often occurs in this knit-blogging world, goodneess- goodness- goodness
Feb 6 :: My attempt at knitting a spring sweater for Ben has ended up in a box to the Goodwill instead of to him. I do not think I am meant to follow patterns.
Today is for modeling Jean's blanket
and working on cashmere socks. My attitude about cashmere has been wildly improved by discovering goats are involved. If I had any shepherding talent I would have a few here.
